HISTORICAL MAPS AND IMAGES

12Batteries_plan.gif (29304 bytes) 1   Plan of batteries showing distances and relative geometry
12US_Engr_map_north_is_up.jpg (232457 bytes) 2  A portion of the map Field Fortifications Around Corinth, Miss. -- Also exhibiting the Rebel entrenchments and the approaches of the U.S. forces during May 1862, by Captain Fred Prime.  The original map was drafted with South to the top.  This portion has been rotated so that it reads correctly.
Corinth_area.jpg (119161 bytes) 3  A larger section of the map Field Fortifications Around Corinth, Miss. -- Also exhibiting the Rebel entrenchments and the approaches of the U.S. forces during May 1862, by Captain Fred Prime.  This image is un-rotated, so that North is to the bottom.  Batteries Powell, Williams, and Robinett are shown, as well as the extent of the felled-tree abatis. The map includes the Braton property to the west (lower right) which Charles Cowell indicates in the map in his diary as having cannon.
12Budd_map.jpg (61322 bytes) 4  Corinth and vicinity.  A map by Charles H. Budd, Private, Company B, 2nd Iowa Infantry, July 4, 1863.  The outline of Battery Robinett differs from the official map (above), but is similar to archeological findings.  The archeological findings have, most likely, been misinterpreted.
12Batteries_Williams_and_Robinette.jpg (48605 bytes) 5  View of Batteries Robinett (to the right of railroad)  and Williams (to the left of the rails) looking westward from the vicinity of the rail crossing just east of town.  Union camps are seen at right.
